Quinta do Casal Monteiro is one of the most important wine producers in the demarcated Tejo region in Portugal (E.U.) where they bottle limited production vintages from their 100 hectare vineyard property.
Most of their wired vines are located in alluvial sandy clay soil, the best in the Ribatejo Marshland. This type of soil is unique in the country and the characteristic of the sub-Mediterranean temperate climate and its proximity to the river Tagus, provide their vintages with their own specific identity. This identity is reflected in both the palate and aromas of their vintages which are very rich in fruit tones and reveal in general superb acidity. The remaining of their vineyard is located in dry sandy soil providing great complexity to our vintages.
